Ludwig II. - The historical drama about the ´Bavarian Fairytale King´ will be released in Germany in December 2012
After more than 70 days of shooting the elaborate filming has actually been completed.
The large project, which is produced by Bavaria Picture and ranks among the most expensive film productions 2011 in Germany, has been prepared and worked out by Marie Noëlle and Peter Sehr over several years, who both participate in screenplay and direction. Their aim to create authenticity and closeness to King Ludwig II and his time, is enabled by a superb cast (cinema-debutant Sabin Tambrea masters his main part as young king while being supported by a number of well-known german actors like Sebastian Schipper, Justus von Dohnanyi, Friedrich Mücke, Hannah Herzsprung, Katharina Thalbach,...) and also by the fact that the first time for 30 years there had been a permission to film at the original historical locations.
Currently the movie is in post-production and will be released in December 2012.
